Dry Needling
Dry needling is a targeted treatment used to help release tight muscles, reduce pain, and improve movement. It involves inserting very fine, sterile needles into specific points in the muscle, often known as trigger points, to help calm irritated tissue and support the body’s natural healing response.
At Seraphys Physio & Wellness, dry needling is used as part of a broader treatment plan, not as a magic “poke it and fix it” trick. Your practitioner will assess your symptoms, movement, and muscle tension first, then decide whether dry needling is suitable for your condition and comfort level.
Dry needling may be helpful when muscles feel tight, guarded, overworked, or difficult to release with massage alone. Some people feel an immediate sense of relief or improved movement after treatment, while others may feel temporary muscle soreness for 24 to 48 hours, similar to post-exercise soreness. Your practitioner will explain what to expect and provide aftercare advice.
Dry needling may be combined with physiotherapy, remedial massage, cupping, stretching, strengthening exercises, or movement retraining to support longer-term recovery and reduce the chance of symptoms returning.
