GP-referred physiotherapy may be appropriate for patients who need assessment, treatment planning and rehabilitation support for:

• Ongoing musculoskeletal conditions

Your GP will decide whether a Medicare-rebatable allied health referral pathway is suitable for your health needs.​

What Bulk Billing Means

For eligible referred patients, Seraphys may accept the Medicare benefit as full payment for the eligible physiotherapy appointment. This means there may be no out-of-pocket cost for that eligible service.

• whether your referral is valid for physiotherapy

• whether bulk billing applies to your appointment

• how many sessions are available under your referral

• whether any non-Medicare services, reports or additional appointments may have separate costs

• any relevant scans, reports or hospital discharge paperwork

• a list of current medications, if relevant

• comfortable clothing for movement assessment

Do I need a GP referral?

You can book physiotherapy privately without a GP referral. If you want to use a Medicare-rebatable referral pathway or ask about bulk billing, you will need a valid referral from your GP.

Is every physiotherapy appointment bulk billed?

No. Bulk billing only applies to eligible appointments under a valid referral pathway. Please contact the clinic before your appointment to confirm whether bulk billing applies to your situation.

Can Seraphys help after surgery or hospital discharge?

Seraphys can support patients with rehabilitation after injury, surgery or hospital discharge when physiotherapy is clinically appropriate. Please bring any relevant discharge summaries, surgeon letters, imaging reports or GP referral documents.

Will you update my GP?

With your consent, we can provide concise assessment or progress updates to your referring GP.
